Our Professor Francesco Ricci has been chosen as recipient of the Heinrich Emanuel Merck Award for Analytical Science 2017.
The award is intended for chemists up to the age of 45, working in particular on developing new analytical methods and their applications in areas of human interest. Their work should be directed towards the improvement of our conditions of life, providing solutions to analytical problems in the areas of life sciences, material sciences or environment.
Francesco has been selected because of his achievements in the development of new diagnostic tools based on DNA nanomachines. He is the second italian ever to receive the award.
The prize will be awarded for the 13th time at a special award ceremony at the EuroAnalysis2017, Stockholm, Sweden, 28 August – 1 September, 2017 where Francesco will deliver a Plenary Lecture titled Nature-inspired DNA-based nanodevices for sensing applications.
