ADE is a full Professor of Chemical Foundations of Technologies in the Department of Chemical Science and Technologies at the University of Roma Tor Vergata. She received her Laurea in Chemistry from the University of Rome La Sapienza and her PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. She teaches several classes (post-graduate, graduate, and undergraduate level) on Inorganic Chemistry and Electrochemical Systems for Energy Conversion and Storage. She is a Member of the Teaching Supervising Committee of the International Ph.D. Program in Materials for Health, Environment, and Energy.

ADE’s scientific activity is focused on studying innovative materials for energy production and sustainable development. It can be summarized mainly on:

  • Development of innovative synthetic procedures for the preparation of nanostructured materials for energy applications such as polymeric fuel cells (PEM), polymeric water electrolyzers, Bio-electrochemical systems (BES), solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), Redox Flow Battery (RFB), fourth generation photovoltaics.
  • Structural and morphological characterization of materials.
  • Electrochemical characterization of materials

She coordinates the Electrochemistry Laboratory for Energy of the MaDE@UTV group. (Materials and Devices for Energy http://made.uniroma2.it/)
She collaborates with numerous international and national scientific groups, and she is an active member of several professional societies, such as the Electrochemical Society (ECS), Materials Research Society (MRS), Italian Chemical Society (SCI) and Italian Association of Chemistry for Engineering (AICIng). She actively participated in national and international research projects financed by Regione Lazio, MUR, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry for Environment, and the European Union.
