Luca Fiore is a researcher (RTT) in the Department of Chemical Science and Technology at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and holds the position of Chief Technology Office (CTO) of the spin-off SENSE4MED s.r.l. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences in 2023 with excellent grade with honors in the same University. He obtained the Master’s Degree in Chemistry on May 28, 2019 with a grade of 110/110 with honors. He was awarded the best ePoster of the Division of Analytical Chemistry. XXVII SCI National Congress. “Smartphone-assisted electrochemical sensor modified for reliable detection of tyrosine in serum samples,” Sept. 14-23, virtual event, and was the winner of the ‘Fondazione Oronzio e Niccolò De Nora’ 2023 Doctoral Award, presented by the Italian Chemical Society (Division of Electrochemistry) at the congress ‘Giornate dell’Elettrochimica Italiana – GEI 2023’ in Cefalù (Sicily), Sept. 17-21. His scientific research is mainly focused on the development of miniaturized electrochemical sensors and biosensors. The main goal is to create sustainable devices that exploit nanomaterials such as carbon black to improve the performance of printed electrodes and paper as a substrate for printing, in order to make “lab-on-a-chip on paper” devices that can be used as Point-of-Care and wearable (“Wearable”) systems. Applications of the developed sensors and biosensors are mainly in the biomedical, environmental and agrifood sectors.

Currently, he has authored 33 papers published in peer-review journals and 4 patents (H-index: 12, (Scopus, May 2025).
