Short CVPubblicazioni
She took a degree in Chemistry at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” on 1984, with an experimental dissertation on “Synthesis of the tetracyclic diterpenic diol Stemarin”.
After some post-doctoral grants, she had permanent position at the I.C.I. Rende Pharmaceutical Institute as Laboratory Manager. From June 1988, she is a research associate at University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Department of Chemical Sciences and Technologies.
She was member of University of Rome “Tor Vergata” Academic Senate in the period 2004-2012 and 2015-2018, representing Chemistry Area. Since 1998 she teaches Chemistry and Chemistry for Energy in Engineering Departments.
Research activity, is focused on different topics of organic chemistry: total synthesis of natural organic compounds; synthesis of potential drugs and synthesis and applications of organometallic compounds, in the area of Palladium complexes with alfa-diimines, iminophosphines and iminophosphinites ligands, the study of synthetic methodology, structures and solution behavior was carried out. Catalytic activity of these complexes has been studied in phenylation and amination reactions, and in Stille, Heck and Suzuki-Miyaura reactions.
Some of these synthesized Palladium(II) complexes were used as sensors for CO and ethylene in the electronic nose, η1-Allylpalladium complexes with a tridentate PNP’ ligand was used for the first time, as new material for interesting analytical applications, as the electrochemical detection of guanine, by the assembly of chemically modified Screen Printed Electrode (SPE).
In energy field, investigating microalgae and cyanobacteria, considered as one of the most promising feedstock for biofuel, she studies lipids produced, contained fatty acids suitable for a high-quality biodiesel production and nutraceutical uses, showing high proportions of saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids.
