Short CVPubblicazioni
Dr. Federica Sabuzi graduated in Chemistry at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2013. From April to July 2013 she joined Prof. Frank Hollmann’s research group at the Technical University of Delft (The Netherlands), with a fellowship granted by COST-EU. She obtained her PhD in 2017 at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, with a thesis entitled “Catalytic and photocatalytic processes for sustainable small molecule activation”; then, she started her post-doctoral activity in the same University working on the synthesis and characterization of aromatic quinones through spectroscopic and computational analyses. From November 2017 to May 2018 she worked as guest post-doc in the Organic Chemistry and Catalysis group of the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands; supervisor: Prof. R.J.M. Klein Gebbink). In December 2018 she was awarded with the YERUN Research Mobility Award at the Dept. of Chemistry of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), in Prof. Xavier Sala’s research group. In February 2019 she started a new post-doctoral project at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, with a 3-years fellowship, working in the sustainable bromination of natural phenols and terpenes for biomedical applications.

Her research activity is dedicated to the synthesis of new organic compounds, trough environment friendly procedures. In particular, she works on the functionalization of natural phenols and polycyclic quinones for applications in biomedical and in photo(electro)chemical fields.

From May 2017, she is Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of BT-InnoVaChem srl, a spin-off of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, working in the field of antimicrobial chemicals.
