The research activity is focused on the design, synthesis, morphological, structural, and functional characterization of carbon nanostructures and polymer-based nanocomposites. These systems are studied for the development of advanced materials to be used in electronics, bioelectronics and optoelectronics, biomedical applications, production and delivery energy devices, gas sensors, electrochemical and electromechanical sensors, electron emitters, and space devices.

ET has served as Referee for the evaluation of international research projects on behalf of Israel Science Foundation (ISF) – Israel, National Science Foundation (NSF) – USA, and The French National Research Agency (ANR) – France.
ET has been a member of the research group of more than 15 national and international projects, including:

  • WASP: Wearable Applications enabled by electronic Systems on Paper” – Horizon 2020 project
  • NANOFAB: Development of innovative technological process for fabricating sensorized fabrics based on nanomaterials.” – MISE/F.C.S. – Bando Industria Sostenibile
