Erica Del Grosso is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Science and Technology of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. She received her PhD in Chemical Sciences at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” under the supervision of Prof. Francesco Ricci and during the PhD she was also a visiting researcher at the University of Montréal. Her research activity is in the field of DNA nanotechnology and it is mainly focused on the development and characterization of DNA-based nanodevices for sensing and diagnostic applications. Erica’s research has been also recognized by different awards. In 2020 she was awarded the prestigious Marie Curie Individual Global Fellowship and she spent 1 year as post-doc researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara, under the supervision of Prof. Kevin W. Plaxco. She was also awarded the first place for the “Reaxys SCI Early Career Researcher Award” for young researchers under 35 (2018) and the Silver Medal of the “European Young Chemist Award” (2022).
