Research experience:
Dr. Porchetta is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry of ‘University of Rome “Tor Vergata” (UTV). During the PhD his research activities mainly focused on the development of innovative strategies to recreate naturally occurring mechanisms to both narrow and broaden the dynamic range of structure-switching DNA-based receptors for sensing applications. At the moment he is exploring the possibility of using DNA-based nanodevices for diagnostic and drug monitoring applications. In particular, he recently develop DNA/RNA-based nanodevices for the real time, single-step detection of clinically relevant antibodies. He published 28 papers in ISI peer-reviewed journals (10 papers in journals with impact factor (IF) > 10 (5 JACS + 2 Nano Letters + 1 Acc. Chem. Res. + 1 Ang. Chem. Int. Ed.), 9 papers as first-author (3 first co-author) and 5 as corrisponding author.
