Research Interests: The research activity is focussed on the study of the structural and functional properties of biopolymers and of biocompatible synthetic polymers in solution and in gel phase. Among biopolymers, a great deal of activity is devoted to polysaccharides of different origin. Scattering methodologies (static and dynamic light scattering, quasi-elastic neutron scattering), spectroscopic techniques (uv-vis absorption, circular dichroism, NMR), isothermal microcalorimetry techniques (flow-mix and titration) are used to gain information regarding the behaviour of natural and biocompatible macromolecules both in solution and in the gel state.
